Katie Keita

Katie founded LekkiLekki to give people a mechanism to help combat the effects of climate change where its effects are most pernicious; spread the word about how trees combat climate change; and work toward a more circular and inclusive global economy. Katie’s career in investor relations has been punctuated with stints in sustainability and economic development. She spends her evenings and weekends with her favourite people.

Kande Keita
President, COO and Director
Kande joined the Lekki cause on day one to give back to his hometown of Kolda, Senegal. Kande works with his extensive network of friends and organizations there to mobilize people and resources to make cities greener, cooler and wealthier. Kande spends his days looking after the elderly and taking care of his family.
Kande, originaire de Kolda, au Sénégal, travaille avec son vaste réseau d’amis et d’organisations pour mobiliser des personnes et des ressources pour rendre les villes sénégalaises plus vertes, plus fraîches et plus riches. Kande passe ses journées à s’occuper des personnes âgées et à prendre soin de sa famille.
Mbouillé Diallo
Director
Mbouillé is on the ground in Senegal with one foot in North America through is extensive experience with organizations such as the Peace Corps, learning adventure group Where There Be Dragons, and the U.S. Embassy. Mbouillé spends his days working in diplomatic security, and his evenings and weekends on environmental endeavours.

Joanne Pindera
Director
Joanne joined Lekki’s board to advance climate action, personally and professionally, and also because she has the skill set to match Lekki’s mission. Joanne has decades of experience in international affairs and development cooperation, and is eager to direct her energy toward scaling Lekki so it can sustain communities across Senegal and beyond.

Jennifer Farah
Director
Jennifer joined Lekki’s board because she believes that climate change can feel so overwhelming that people wonder whether they even can make a difference. By giving people ownership of trees and making trees more of a presence in their daily lives, where they can appreciate the difference trees make, Jennifer thinks that planting and growing them can have a different kind of impact than that of vast forest plantings (which, she notes, are also important). Jennifer is known for her ability to get stuff done, efficiently and with joy, as a co-founder and leader of the successful engineering software company in Boston, Massachusetts, SIGMAXIM.
